You are readier than you may think you are for the New Year! To tap into this readiness, look back at your accomplishments of the past year and make a list of them. Appreciate what you are grateful for and what you have attained in all areas of your life. Really acknowledge yourself for your growth and self-acceptance in all areas of your life. Then list the things you prefer not to bring forward and make a ritual to release them. You can write them down and tear them up or shred them. Then write a list of your truest intentions for yourself and the new year. Energize them by saying them out loud, and doing a ritual to charge the intentions. Some ways to charge the intention include lighting a candle, saying them to your truest friends who will assist you in your goals, and ….. much more! Join us to learn more about starting a truly new year full of Real Conscious Living.
TV Politics
Television, the Year in Review
Julia Louis Dreyfus in Veep is a hit and a great example of a non-empowered woman in a position of power. Hillary and Condie she is not! As former senator and now vice-president Selina Meyer, Julia’s character is disregarded and skillfully brings disregard upon her self; catch the episode to hear her by say to her tall male colleagues, things such as “Can you please kneel down, I feel like I fell into a well.” Julia’s been nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award, Golden Globe Award, and others, so she is quite a hit with former fans of Seinfeld and The New Adventures of Old Christine.
The accolades to HBO are well deserved and Veep is great for laughs, but if you are feeling like Selina, break the “lack of confidence” habit of viewing. Try not to watch the all day marathon before the next season opener. Even the best habit breaking practices will need refreshed after ingesting an overdose dose of insecurity.

Will traditional TV be replaced?
In New York City, YouTube, Hulu, Netflix and Yahoo premiered their upcoming content. Will it be long before some of the biggest shows are made by online companies rather than TV networks?
Ipads, androids, and other new devices are shifting viewer behavior. You decide what you want to watch, not only anytime but also anywhere. But traditional TV is not being replaced, merely enhanced and expanded by additional technological opportunities to view TV programs on phones, computers and ipads. Don’t you still go to the movies rather than wait for the video? I rest my case. #TVRadioDoc

RxTV: Prescriptions for Healthy TV Viewing
Over 25 years ago, I, Dr. Nancy Mramor, began appearing in the media, on TV, radio and in print to share psychological and spiritual principles that would improve people’s lives. During this time, my clinical research, study and practice led me to produce a television program on the effectiveness of TV to teach positive health concepts and practices through a multi-media televised curriculum of stress management. Thanks to a grant from the Beaver County Drug and Alcohol Prevention Project, the research was funded and the outcome was remarkable, proving that a program can be produced with the intention of creating positive health and healthy habits for students. My research, and experience as a producer, scriptwriter, editor and hundreds of media placements over the years drew me to become a resource to the media. As I have written and spoken about the power of television around the world, some things have become clear; TV is an influence that can contribute to happiness (or rob you of it, if used excessively).
Managing Conflict
KDKA Radio
How we relate to others and the ways that it effects our happiness are powerful parts of our lives. People can be highly conducive to our happiness, neutral or conflictual. The healthy ones are the ones we hold close in our lives, the neutral ones may be the ones we hardly notice, but the ones that create conflict are ones we work with to find a good balance.
Real Conscious Eating
What is Real Conscious Eating?
Real Conscious Eating is an awareness of what you eat, how much you eat, what goes on in the body during eating that predicts how much you will eat, how you feel when you eat and what motivates you to eat. Awareness is followed by a process of change that results in making the best choices for you, mind, body and spirit. So what happens when you eat and why is it important to know? You see and smell food. The smell receptors n the mouth call up memories of past meals such as Sunday breakfast, a favorite lunch, dip and chips at a football game. The memories entice you and so you take a bite. As the food reaches the stomach, a spike in insulin occurs. Fats and nutrients send hormones to the brain (hypothalamus) where the brain decides when you are full. A number of biological processes occur during this time until you feel full, but there are tricks to get you to feeling that awareness of being full even sooner that I will share with you. What gets in the way of using the tricks you learn are early childhood food experiences, your Culture, Emotions, An urge for variety and Force of Habit As a result, you are likely to eat 92% of what is on your plate regardless of portion size. And changing your behavior is challenging because once the pleasure centers in the brain recognize certain foods as tasty and rewarding, then those centers continue to see those foods in a positive way, even once you decide to restrict them in your diet. Then habit sets in to work against your decision. But there are factors that you can adjust to master all of those challenges! Some of these secrets include:
Celebrity and Real Life Workplace Relationships
Better TV, NYC
Recently David Letterman’s workplace romances caused many people to consider whether office affairs are worth it. Tiger Woods is also reconsidering some of his recent actions. I was invited to speak about the topic on Meredith Corp. program Better, in New York City and on KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh;
Happy Holidays! Unless They’re Not!
At the holidays, people are joyfully gathering to spend time with friends and family, eating and drinking traditional foods and enjoying the generous spirit of the season. And it is a time to remember holidays past, and dream of those in the future. So why isn’t everyone happy at this time of year?
Sadness or grief may creep into a typically joyful time, if certain conditions exist:
Wash Your Worries Away
Have you ever wished that you could wash your thoughts away? You can! The mind clutter and mental chatter are things that people often ask me about. “Why can’t I make this stop” they ask when the mind gets busy with worries, fears, and judgments about friends, family and the guy who just cut you off in traffic.
